Muscle First Chiropractic uses the technique Applied Kinesiology (AK) as a system that evaluates structural, chemical, and emotional aspects of health using muscle testing. Applied Kinesiology was developed in the 1960s by chiropractor Dr. George Goodheart.

Nutritional Response Testing (NRT) is a technique based on applied kinesiology that evaluates how the body reacts to various nutrients, foods, or supplements. Using muscle testing, it identifies potential imbalances in the body’s nutritional state. NRT operates on the belief that the body can signal its needs through variations in muscle strength. During the process, the practitioner may place vials or samples of different nutrients or substances in the patient's hand, on their body, or nearby, and test the body's response. This helps determine which substances are beneficial or which may be contributing to imbalances.

Muscle testing is a further look into functionality of the body and all of the body’s systems. Removing neurological interferences restores overall functionality of these systems. In order to muscle test, the practitioner gently presses on a specific muscle while the patient resists. The muscle’s response—either strong or weak—is used as an indicator of potential imbalances or issues within the body.  Muscle testing is used to identify food sensitivities, detect stress or emotional imbalances, assess organ function or structural misalignments, and assists with guiding chiropractic adjustments, dietary recommendations, or other therapies. AK focuses on all three aspects of the triad of health to treat, diagnose, and heal the body.

AK focuses on the balance of three key elements:

    • Structural (bones, muscles, joints)

    • Chemical (nutrition, toxins, internal biochemistry)

    • Emotional (stress, trauma)

The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic adjustment developed by Dr. Larry Webster, founder of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). This method aims to improve the alignment of the sacrum—the base of the spine—and the pelvis. When the pelvis is properly aligned, the uterus can function more effectively, providing the baby with more space to move into the optimal position for birth. The technique combines gentle chiropractic adjustments targeting the pelvis, sacrum, and lower spine, along with soft tissue work to relieve muscle tension, especially in the round ligaments that support the uterus.

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) can be used as an effective tool for people of all ages. Emotional stress responses like fear, anger, and grief can continue to impact us long after the initial event has passed. When the body holds onto these unresolved responses, it can lead to unexplained fears, self-defeating habits, limiting beliefs, phobias, and even chronic physical issues. Through Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), we help identify and release these persistent mind-body stress patterns.

NET combines modern scientific research with time-tested techniques from Eastern healing traditions. By recognizing the connection between stress, environmental toxins, nutritional balance, and structural health, patients experience improved well-being and overall health.
